Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Manuscript requirements

Scientific articles: Should not exceed 8000 words – with additional literature lists and endnotes.  The journal accepts original empirical and theoretical articles, in addition to overview articles in the field of pedagogical supervision research. Essays/narratives: Should not exceed 3000 wordsBest practice examples: 1500 words. Book reviews: 1000 words.

Manuscript submissions

The manuscript must have been written using a standard word processor and submitted electronically via the journal’s website. Please attach a separate file with the article’s title, name of author and institution, and postal address, as well as a concise author presentation (about 3 lines). The article should NOT contain contact information.

If the author wishes to have the article peer-reviewed, all self-references must be omitted in the submitted manuscript, both in the article text itself and in the literature list. The references can be marked as: xx (2020).

Manuscript format

Use Times New Roman 12-point type and double spacing throughout the manuscript, including indented quotes. Indent the first line of each new paragraph, with the exception of text that follows headers or intended quotes. Avoid extra spaces between paragraphs. Use an extra space before and after headers and intended quotes. Quotations marks should not be used for intended quotes. Endnotes can be used, but not footnotes.

Abstract (Arial 14, bold) Abstract

All submissions that are to be peer reviewed must include an abstract in both English and a Scandinavian language. The abstracts should be no more than 150 words long (Times New Roman, 12-point).

Abstract (Arial 14, bold) Key words

State 4 to 6 key words. Avoid words that are already used in the title (Times New Roman, 12-point).

Main titles (Arial 14, bold)

The main text can either include sections, (Arial 14, bold), such as an introduction, method, result and discussion, or it can be freely structured. Use APA 7th for referencing in the text (see http://kildekompasset.no). If there are multiple references to the same point, use a semicolon between the references (Durkheim, 1981, p. 23; Kuhn, 2002, p. 56). Footnotes must be avoided (Times New Roman, 12-point).

Any subtitles (Arial, italics, 12-point)

Illustrations (Arial 14, bold) 

If relevant, insert a maximum of 1 figure per page, and mark it with “Figure 1: name”, etc. The figure name and any explanations should be placed below the figure. (Times New Roman, 12-point).

If relevant, insert a maximum of 1 table per page, marked with “Figure 1: name”, etc.

The title of each table should be placed above the table with explanations below (Times New Roman, 12-point)

Literature (Arial 14, bold)

APA 7th (see http://kildekompasset.no). (Times New Roman, 12-point)

List of authors (Arial 14, bold)

Three lines including the names of each author, position, institutional affiliation, and professional background or research field. Maximum 80 words (Times New Roman, 12-point)

Publication frequency

The journal publishes articles on a continuous basis.
