Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined below in the Author Guidelines.
  • Any third-party-owned materials used have been identified with appropriate credit lines, and permission obtained from the copyright holder for all formats of the journal.
  • All DOIs for the references have been provided, when available.

Author Guidelines

About the journal

Praxeology publishes empirical, theoretical and philosophical original articles. The journal accepts contributions in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, English and French. 

The journal is Open Access and publishes articles continuously and in electronic form only. Authors may submit contributions at any time. 

Requirements to manuscripts 

Submitted manuscripts are assumed to be final.

Articles must be based on an original empirical analysis and/or on a pure theoretical or philosophical analysis to be accepted. Two anonymous peers must consider the article to be of high academic value.  

Submitted manuscript cannot exceed 8000 words, exclusive references. 

Paragraphs are marked with an open line. 

The manuscript must contain: 

  • Title
  • Abstract in the original language of the article and in English, maximum 300 words 
  • Up to six key words
  • The main text of the manuscript
  • Numbered footnotes, not endnotes
  • Alphabetic bibliography at the end of the paper  

References and quotations

The journal uses the APA 7threference style.

It is the responsibility of the author(s) to make sure that the requirements described in the Author Guidelines are fulfilled and that the necessary approvals are obtained.  

Author and co-authors

Praxeologi follows the Vancouver-recommendations for right to authorship and acknowledgments. 

Authorship is given to people who have

  • participated significantly in developing the idea and design, collecting data, or the analysis
  • written the article or done a critical revision of the article
  • given the final approval to the version that is going to be published

Authors must fulfil all these criteria.   

Everyone who has contributed to the work, for example when applying for research funding, collecting data or guidance, but who does not fulfil the authorship criteria, should be acknowledged. Only people who have contributed significantly should be mentioned. 

The assessment process

Submitted contributions must not be under assessment elsewhere.
