About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Ornis Norvegica publishes original papers in all fields of ornithology, with a geographical focus on Fennoscandia. Descriptive articles documenting bird biology or populations are welcome. Articles dealing with faunistical material should be analytical. Longer papers, including reviews, are published as Articles, while biologically interesting observations and notes on methodology are published as Short Communications. Ideas and views intended to encourage discussion are published as Commentary. Publication language is English. All manuscripts are peer reviewed.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts will be reviewed by independent referees.

Open Access Policy

The journal is available for all (Open Access), with free access to all published content.

Unless otherwise noted, works published after September 2020 are released under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which provides unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Articles published prior to September 2020 are not released under a Creative Commons license and are subject to the following terms:
