About the Journal
Focus and Scope
This open-access electronic journal aims at strengthening the communication between the Nordic criminal law science and the international arena. The main idea is to make Nordic criminal law research available for an international audience, as well as allowing international research to interact with a Nordic audience. Therefore, contributions in English are favoured, but text written in the Nordic languages and in German can be accepted as well. The journal is published with two issues per year, freely available for everyone.
The journal is devoted to, though not exclusively, the following subjects:
- Substantive Criminal Law
- Criminal Procedure
- EU- & International Criminal Law
- Comparative Criminal Law
- Criminal Law History
- Criminology & Other Interdisciplinary Perspectives
- Theory of Criminal Law
Peer Review Process
The journal consists of two main sections, where the first is reserved for articles that are subject to blind peer-review. The second part consists of varia, including commentaries on relevant case law, book reviews and shorter contributions.
After receiving a contribution, the editors will decide, possibly together with the editorial board, if the contribution is within the scope of the journal. A peer review follows this, where the contribution will be reviewed in a blind peer review process.
The contributions are assessed in relation to originality, thoroughness, relevance, familiarity with relevant literature, analytical quality and language and writing style. The author will be informed of the result of the peer review and if necessary communicated the proposed changes to the contributions. Preferably, this shall be done within 2 months of submission of the contribution.
